Taipei is the capital and the political, economic, educational,
and cultural center of Taiwan. One of the landmarks of Taipei
is
Taipei 101. Soaring 508 meters high, Taipei 101 was the
world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010, and still stands
proud as the world's second tallest building today. The first
five floors house a luxury shopping mall with world-brand
boutiques. The building also boasts the world's fastest elevator,
which takes guests to the observatory deck on the 89th
floor.

The National Palace Museum has a permanent collection of nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial
artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest of its type in the world. Most of the collection are high quality
pieces collected by China's ancient emperors.
